“Winning this award has come as a huge confidence boost. I found out while very unwell in hospital, and despite everything that was going on I couldn’t stop smiling! This award is unique in that it recognises potential for a project and person, and the future of these two things. Writing is a very lonely thing, even with a community around you – because at the end of the day it comes down to you the writer and the product of your efforts, your writing. Having such an esteemed judge recognise what I am doing, and give me the financial means to expand on and finish it is a true blessing both logistically and emotionally. Thank you so much.”
