Elizabeth Gibson

Elizabeth Gibson (2017)

Elizabeth Gibson is a Masters student at the University of Manchester and a member of The Writing Squad. In 2016 she was awarded Second Prize in The Poetry Society's Timothy Corsellis Prize for her poem ‘Barthelasse’, set in WWII France. Elizabeth edits the Word Life section of Now Then Manchester, providing details of upcoming literary events in the city and curating a new set of creative writing every month.

Michael Golding

Michael Golding (2013)

A visual artist for over 30 years, Michael Golding holds an MA in fine art and a doctorate in photography and digital imaging. Previously a senior lecturer in photography, Michael recently completed an MA in creative writing at Newcastle University. He received a New Fiction Bursary at the Northern Writers’ Awards 2013 for his novel, Salvage.

James Giddings

James Giddings (2015)

James Giddings was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and now lives in Sheffield. He has an MA in Writing from Sheffield Hallam, which was funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council. In 2016 his pamphlet 'Everything is Scripted' was published by Templar Poetry.

Nicholas Graham (2016)

Nicholas Graham grew up in West Cumbria and spent his youth among the mountains of the Lake District. After living for many years in the south of England he returned to Cumbria with the aim of writing fiction. He lives with his family in a village on the Cumbrian coast.

Barbara Gamble

Barbara Gamble (2006)

Barbara Gamble has lived in Teesside for over 25 years and has had two novels published. The first, Out of Season, was runner-up in the Constable Trophy for the best first novel written in the north of England, and long-listed for the Booker Prize. Her second novel, Partial Recoveries. Her third was Stargazing, the novel which earned her a Time to Write Award in April 2006.

Alison Gangel

Alison Gangel (2011)

Alison Gangel started her teaching career as head of music at a comprehensive school in Newcastle upon Tyne, and now teaches English at a Catholic comprehensive school in Gateshead. She has lived in Newcastle for over 20 years with her daughters Lorna and Jessica. The Sun Hasn’t Fallen From the Sky, published by Bloomsbury in 2011, is her first book.

Chrissie Glazebrook

Chrissie Glazebrook (2002)

Chrissie Glazebrook’s short stories, poetry and journalism were widely published in magazines and newspapers and broadcast on radio. The Madolescents, her first novel, was published by Heinemann in 2001 and by Arrow in 2002. Her second novel, Blue Spark Sisters, appeared in 2003, again from Heinemann and Arrow. She died in 2007.
